Past Events

Latinas Contra Cancer produces two events yearly to increase awareness in the Latino community about cancer. Talking about cancer won’t kill us, the silence will. So we make a very public display of community support, understanding and togetherness.

Hundreds of Latinos, including cancer survivors, and families, join our Walks Against Cancer to commemorate those who have lost their lives to cancer, and to celebrate survivorship. Someday we hope the turnout will be in the thousands.
We also recognize our loved ones in the spirit of Christmas with a celebratory Fiesta.

Starting in 2008, we convened  the biannual National Latino Cancer Summit bringing together cancer researchers, health care providers, community based agencies and community health educators (promotoras) from around the country to get the latest information on cancer in the Latino community; to network and to finds ways to collaborate for more and better research, and translational community education and support programs.
