At Latinas Contra Cancer, we offer holistic, culturally affirming support for cancer survivors. We understand that surviving cancer is not just about medical treatment, it's about healing emotionally, reclaiming dignity, and building a new path forward. Our survivor support services are designed to foster community, resilience, and hope at every stage of the survivorship journey.

What the Program Offers

We create supportive environments where survivors can connect, heal, and thrive. Our offerings include:

Facilitated in English and Spanish by licensed mental health professionals, these groups provide safe, compassionate spaces for survivors to share their experiences, receive emotional support, and build community.

In-Person Support Group in Spanish

This is a safe, trusting space that would help you reflect and process heavy emotions, practice meditation/exercises to relax, practice self-care, set healthy boundaries, express emotions and what you need to feel better. It will also help you explore your thoughts, practice positive thoughts, and cultivate practices of compassion, love and kindness/affection for oneself and others.

Provides a roundtable platform where parents/caregivers can openly share their fears, concerns, and ongoing challenges related to caring for a child with cancer.

This Spanish-language mindfulness series blends culturally rooted practices with techniques for managing anxiety, stress, and depression, offering practical tools to support emotional well-being.

Are you in treatment or recovering from cancer?

Join a group of Latinos to learn more tools like mindfulness and identifying symptoms of stress to help reduce worry, anxiety, depression, and problems with sleep.

You are invited to take part in 1 session per week, for a total of 6 weeks. The sessions will be held virtually for an hour and a half through Zoom in Spanish (by phone or computer).

Restoring Confidence, One Fit at a Time

This beautiful space offers wigs, knit caps, colorful head scarves, silicone breast prostheses, support camisoles, swimsuits, tank tops, and accessories for cancer patients and survivors. This unique space provides women, who have been diagnosed with cancer, a personalized shopping experience with caring staff and trained mastectomy fitters in English and Spanish.Quality wigs and breast prosthesis are an important part of the healing process. Many high-end mastectomy and wig boutiques exist, but not everyone can afford them. We work to ensure all women who have been diagnosed with cancer have access to the support they need through survivorship regardless of their income or whether or not their insurance covers their needs.

Our in-person boutique provides free, high-quality wigs and breast prostheses to individuals who have experienced hair loss or undergone mastectomy as a result of cancer treatment. It’s more than a boutique, it’s a space for restoring confidence and identity.

Eligibility & Access

Our survivor support programs are open to all individuals who have been affected by cancer, including those in active treatment, survivors, and caregivers. Everyone is welcome.
